The World Port Center is the first builing taller then 100 m in the new city development-area 'Kop van Zuid', 124 meters. Like the name says, the tower will contain offices which have to do somethink with the Rotterdam seaport, the biggest in the world.
The architect, Sir Norman Foster, also designed the Commerzbank AG in Frankfurt and the Honk Kong & Shanghai Bank in Hong Kong. He also designed the masterplan for the area of this building, the 'Wilhelminapier'.
The Construction started in spring 1998. The total floorspace is 42.000 m2. The roof of the lower part of the building is 90 meters tall.On the 32nd and 33th floors are conference rooms, the floors you can see above the 'normal' floors. I made pictures of the construction, have a look:
